When I first heard about Meditech my ears pricked up and I immediately recognised the potential. I discussed the opportunity with my wife Susan. She was also very interested so we got in touch with Meditech and arranged to visit their head office.
Meditech’s treatment programme is half the cost of cosmetic surgery and is a more natural approach. The treatment process is well established and has been available in clinics in Europe for over six years. There are many case studies which demonstrate how effective the treatment is.
My background is in pioneering health and wellbeing products and that’s what attracted me to the Meditech franchise. Susan experienced the treatment and saw there was a measurable difference. We were impressed, signed a franchise agreement, and started the business in February 2008.
The training is comprehensive and absolutely invaluable, in fact you do not need to have a background in health and beauty to operate this franchise. My wife took the therapist training and she manages the clinic and provides the treatments, while I look after the finances, reporting, marketing and general back-of-house operations.
To develop our skills & techniques we gave treatments to family and friends just to get used to the procedure. At our first open day in March we gave prospective clients free consultations and one off treatments.
This was a great way of getting people in through the door and the telephone started ringing with people booking a course of treatments.
We now hold an open day every month and find that this is an excellent way of generating new business. In fact we’re looking at a first year turnover of between £125,000 and £150,000. We are so pleased with the success of the franchise, that we have already acquired a second machine and plan to open a second clinic soon.
